The final event of the season was held on a squally day at the Keighley Golf Club, and was won by Geoff Blackburn of the Otley Golf Club, with his guest, Paul Crosby, the current Yorkshire Seniors Champion, of the Shipley Golf Club.  The weather clearly affected all players, with the winning total of 38 points being the lowest total of the season.

Ian McDowall [Harrogate G.C.] and Stuart Lang [Garforth G.C.] won the Autumn Meeting No. 2 with 43 points - the event was held on 1st September at the Meltham Golf Club - full results are on the 2011 Results page.

The first Autumn meeting, held at the Hickleton Golf Club on 11th August, was won by Messrs P. Wilson and J. O. Newsome, of Wakefield G.C., with 45 points - full results are on the 2011 Results page. 

Individual members of any Golf Club affiliated to the Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs may become County Members of the Association, by completing the application form and submitting it, with the appropriate one-off Life Membership fee [currently £40].  All County Members receive a county fixture list, and a copy of the yearbook, and they are entitled to purchase and wear the Association tie and knitwear.  They are also, subject to the conditions which are laid down, eligible to enter the golf competitions which the Union holds for such members - at present, there are nine events each year, held at courses around the County.

Long sleeve sweaters are now available from the County Members Secretary, at a cost of £40.  Sleeveless sweaters are also available at a cost of £30.  Regretably, the supply of umbrellas has been sold out, but we are trying to obtain suitable replacements, at a reasonable cost.  As well as the ordinary Members tie, bow ties are now available, both priced at a modest £7 each.  Some items will be available to purchase at the Members meetings, or can be ordered from the County Members Secretary.

RULES FOR COUNTY MEMBERS' MEETINGS

All competitions will be Fourball Better Ball Stableford over 18 holes, Maximum stroke allowance 15 (No Handicap Limit for entry).
All entrants must be paid up County Members, or must include a completed membership application form with the competition entry.
Members may enter both of the Spring, Summer, Autumn & Seniors events and will be accommodated if not over-subscribed.

A fully completed entry form, showing details of both players, INCLUDING MEMBERSHIP NUMBERS, to be submitted, accompanied by a CHEQUE for £32 made payable to the YORKSHIRE UNION OF GOLF CLUBS and a STAMPED ADDRESSED ENVELOPE.
A SEPARATE CHEQUE AND SAE FOR EACH EVENT, please - cheques should be dated for the closing date, as shown on the entry form.
Cheques will be returned to those balloted out.
After the Competition closing date, entry monies will not be refunded but entrants may arrange for a substitution providing the player substituted complies with the above rules.

Only players with an ACTIVE handicap will be eligible to win prizes in County Members meetings.  Players with an INACTIVE handicap will, however, still be permitted to play in these meetings.
