You need JavaScript enabled to view it RULES OF GOLF, CHAMPIONSHIPS, HANDICAPPING AND COURSE ASSESSMENTS SEMINARSThe Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs will be conducting a series of seminars throughout the Winter months on golfing matters that will be of interest to district Union Officials, Club Officers and Committee members and members of Clubs. Each seminar will cover the most frequently used Rules of Golf, the writing of Local Rules and their application, the conducting of Championships and Competitions, the Responsibilities of both Clubs and individuals in the running of the Handicapping Suystem and an insighjt into the Assessment scheme that determines the Standard Scratch Score of a golf course. The County is fortunate to have amongst its Executive people who have considerable expertise on the above subjects and they woulod be delighted to have the opportunity to pass on their knowledge to interested parties and discuss with them any items in whcih they may be particularly interested. Discussion, rather than "talking at you" will be encouraged. The section covering the Rules of Golf will be concentrated mainly on some of the basic rules that are frequently misunderstood. These will be the subject of "live demonstration" as well as Power Point displays. The following dates have been agreed with the host Club: Monday 13th December 2010 Cleckheaton Golf Club Monday 17th January 2011 Middlesbrough Golf Club Wednesday 16th February 2011 Pike Hills Golf Club Wednesday 23rd March 2011 Hallowes Golf Club Further Seminars are being planned in the Leeds and East Riding areas.
